Privacy

Short version: Soapy Bangkok doesn't track you.

No analytics, no tracking cookies

The site runs no analytics and sets no tracking cookies. There are no accounts to create and no forms to fill in. It doesn't build a profile of who you are or which venues you look at.

Your location on the near-me page

The near me page only asks for your location when you press the button, and your browser asks your permission first. The location is used inside your browser to sort venues by distance and check which are open. It is never sent to this site. If you say no, you can still browse by city or area.

The map

The map uses OpenStreetMap map tiles and a map library loaded from a public code server. To draw the map, your browser fetches these files from those services, and like any web request that shares your IP address with them. Nothing about the venues you click on is sent to them by this site.

Server requests

As with any website, the host that serves these pages receives the technical details every web request carries, such as your IP address and browser type. The site adds no tracking on top of that.

If you email us

If you write to hello@soapybangkok.com, your email is used to deal with your message, such as a correction or removal request, and for nothing else.

Links to other sites

Venue pages link to Google Maps and to venues' own websites. Those sites have their own privacy practices.

Questions about privacy go to the same address; see contact.
